A pleasant week ahead weather wise after a stormy weekend

MACON, Ga. — We finally have some good news weather wise after a messy and stormy weekend! The cold front that sprouted thunderstorms ahead of it yesterday it continuing to pass through the southern portion of the state. It looks to stall just to our south here in central Georgia, creating a slightly drier and cooler environment.

Rain chances are very slim in light of the drier atmosphere slowly filtering in from the north. This would normally be bad news in terms of no relief from the August heat, but the front is actually going to have an influence on temperatures for once and drop our highs below average in the upper 80s for awhile. The mornings will start out as low as the mid 60s for an almost “false Fall” feel.

The humidity will increase closer to the weekend, along with temperatures eventually back up to the 90-degree mark. This will lead to a return to the summertime pattern of pop-up showers and thunderstorms with the heat of the day at the end of the week. No big rain makers are on the horizon for the next 7 days, so enjoy the calmer weather after an active weekend.
