Rain Chances & Above Average Temperatures to end the week

MACON, Ga. — Close to Record Breaking Heat: Above-average highs are likely again this afternoon. The average high for this time of year is 78 degrees. Highs today will be in the upper 80s and close to 90 degrees tomorrow. Dewpoint temperatures are also in the 60s the next couple of days, creating a humid-heat compared to a dry-heat. Stay hydrated, and if you are working outdoors, take frequent indoor breaks. Cooler air doesn’t settle in until Sunday.

Rain Chances Friday:  An active weather pattern starts Friday morning, as an area of low pressure sweeps across the south east. The Storm Prediction Center has us under a level 1 of 5 on tomorrow’s storm out look. This includes places along and north of Taylor, Crawford, Bibb, Twiggs, Wilkinson, & Peach counties.  The severe threats include wind gusts up to 45 mph and hail in some isolated storms. The overall severe weather risk is low. 1 A.M. to 10 A.M. is the timing for the potential severe weather tomorrow.
