Coroner: Man shot and killed at Houston County home

Houston County Coroner James Williams say it happened at around 8:20 p.m.

Williams said it happened at around 8:20 p.m. in the 100 block of Wimberly Road in Hayneville. According to a press release from the Houston County Sheriff’s Office, the man was shot during a “domestic violence situation.”

The man was taken by ambulance to Houston Healthcare in Perry where he were pronounced dead shortly after arriving, Williams said.

The Houston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the shooting, and there is no additional information at this time.

They say the names are being withheld at this time so that the next of kin can be notified.

This is a developing story. We will provide more information when it becomes available.
