Man killed by Laurens County deputy in domestic dispute



CEDAR GROVE, Ga. — The second Central Georgian in one week was shot and killed by law enforcement.

Thursday, Laurens County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a domestic dispute in Cedar Grove.

The suspect was already gone when deputies arrived, but came back while they were still there.

He drove a car toward people in the yard and crashed into a parked car.

He forced his way into the home with a weapon and hurt multiple people.

A deputy shot at him and killed him. 

The people hurt were taken to the hospital.

Sheriff Larry Dean requested the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s help with the investigation and the deputy was placed on administrative leave in accordance with Laurens County Sheriff’s Office policy.
