Woman dead after shooting on Riverside Drive in Macon, sheriff’s office says
It happened near the Fast Trip on Riverside Drive.
They say it happened around 11:07 a.m. at the Fast Trip in the 2600 block of Riverside Drive.
When deputies arrived they found a 51-year-old woman unresponsive with a gunshot wound.
Paramedics arrived on the scene to treat her but she died from her injuries.
According to Coroner Leon Jones, they are investigating the death as a homicide.
Deputy Coroner LuAnne Stone pronounced the woman dead at the scene, the release says.
The name of the victim will be released after the next of kin is notified.
Investigators are working to figure out what led up to the shooting.
