Man shot by Roswell Police after allegedly attempting to stab bus driver, authorities say
ATLANTA — A man was shot by Roswell Police on Tuesday after allegedly attempting to stab a MARTA bus driver, according to authorities.
This happened on Alpharetta Highway after 2 p.m.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said the suspect charged at them with his “edged weapon,” leading one officer to shoot him.
According to a MARTA spokesperson, the man allegedly “refused to pay his fare and became irate after being asked to leave the bus.”
The suspect has now been transported to an area hospital, and his condition is unclear, according to the GBI.
For the time being, Alpharetta Highway is closed between Houze Way and Mansell Road for the next several hours.
The GBI will conduct its own personal investigation, as is customary.
