A cloudier evening and overnight.
MACON, Ga. — After a mostly sunny day, clouds will start to build in the evening and overnight. Temperatures will sit around the lower 70s and upper 60s for tomorrow morning. Winds will become less breezy as well.
Thursday looks mostly cloudy with slim to no rain chances again, as temperatures continue to drop into the low 80s for highs.
Rain chances do shift for Friday, as we look to see pretty good coverage of showers and storms all over to alleviate those areas who have been very dry over the past two weeks. The only downside is it will be a messy Football Friday Night, as coverage of rain increases throughout the afternoon and evening on Friday. Some of these showers will linger into the morning hours on Saturday as well, but by the afternoon it will push out courtesy of another approaching frontal boundary.
The prolonged rain could bring up to 2-3 inches of rain throughout the area. Some places in the southern counties could see 4 inches locally. This could introduce the possibility of flash flooding.
The passing of this front will lead to another couple of dry days with another reinforcing push of drier air behind it. Lows in the morning starting on Sunday will drop into the low 60s and highs will still remain in the mid 80s. The next week hopefully has a little bit of everything the doctor order, widespread rain for abnormally dry areas, along with cooler temperatures sticking around.
