Man shoots woman, then himself in Crawford County, sheriff’s office says
The sheriff’s office said the shooting happened around 10:30 a.m. Sunday and the man was found dead later the same day.
CRAWFORD COUNTY, Ga. — A man is dead after a shooting a woman near Salem Church Road, according to a Crawford County Sheriff’s Office press release.
The release said Tommie Lee Alexander, 31, was found dead after being shot sometime on Sunday. The release added that Alexander appeared to have shot himself.
Alexander, according to the release, was a suspect in a shooting that happened around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. A 25 year old woman was found shot on Marble Lane around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. It said she was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation, according to the release, was investigating the shooting when they found Alexander. Coroner Sheldon Mattox pronounced him dead.
The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office and GBI are investigating the initial cause of the two shootings. 13WMAZ will update this story when more information becomes available.
