Man arrested in connection to pair of Macon murders, per sheriff’s office report
The suspect is being held in the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center without bond, according to the report.
MACON, Ga. — A man has been arrested in connection to multiple murders in Macon, according to a press release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
They say Roy Deon Thornton III, 42, was arrested in connection to a dead body found on Emery Highway Lane, and a separate shooting at a gas station on Spring Street.
The release says Thornton, a Macon resident was arrested by the U.S. Marshalls Southeast Regional Fugitive Taskforce, before Bibb County officers transported him to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center, where is being held without bond.
Thornton was wanted in connection to multiple crimes when he was arrested, per the release.
According to prior 13WMAZ reporting, Tavarus Hunter, 40, died after being shot at the Exxon Gas Station on Spring Street on Sept. 14, 2024.
There has been no further information released about the body found on Emery Highway Lane on Sept. 17, 2024.
