Businesses across Central Georgia want to thank veterans for their service. Here’s where to snag a deal.
MACON, Ga. — Each year, the United States honors those who have served in the military on Veterans Day.
It’s a federal holiday celebrated every Nov. 11. While some schools and most government offices are closed, businesses usually stay open. Many of them offer discounts or deals to veterans or those actively serving to thank them.
Make sure to bring military ID to redeem these deals, and call ahead to make sure your local store will honor it.
Restaurant Deals
7 Brew Coffee – All 7 Brew locations will offer veterans 25% off their drink with a valid military or veteran ID on Nov. 11.
Applebee’s – On Nov. 11, veterans can choose from a select menu at participating locations and get a free meal when dining in.
Buffalo Wild Wings – Veterans and active-duty military can score 10 free boneless wings and fries when dining in Nov. 11. Buffalo Wild Wings GO locations will honor the deal if orders are placed at the counter.
Chicken Salad Chick – The chain offers a free meal Nov. 11 to veterans and active-duty military in uniform or with a valid military ID.
Chilis – On Nov. 11, veterans can show a valid military or veteran ID for a free meal.
Denny’s – Denny’s offers a free Original Grand Slam to anyone presenting a valid military ID or DD214 from 5 a.m. to noon on Veterans Day.
Dunkin’ – Veterans and active personnel can get a free donut Nov. 11, with a limit of one per guest while supplies last.
Golden Corral – All current service members, retired military and veterans will get a free buffet and drink from 4 p.m. to close Monday.
IHOP – The breakfast spot is giving away free Red, White, and Blueberry Pancake Combo meals to veterans between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday.
Little Caesars – Veterans can get a free lunch combo including four slices of deep dish pizza and a drink from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11.
Olive Garden – The restaurant offers a free meal from a limited menu on Veterans Day.
Shane’s Rib Shack – All active, inactive and retired military can get a free slow-smoked pork or chopped BBQ chicken plate Monday with proof of service.
Sonic – Half-price shakes in any size or flavor!
Starbucks – Veterans and military spouses can get a free tall coffee, either brewed or iced, on Nov. 11 at participating locations.
Wendy’s – The chain offers veterans and active-duty military personnel a free breakfast combo on Monday at participating locations.
Retail Deals
Academy Sports – Need some new running shoes? Academy Sports offers 10% off purchases through Nov. 11 for military and first responders.
Great Clips – Veterans and active military personnel can get a free haircut on Monday. Non-military customers who get a haircut can get a free haircut card to give to a veteran in their life.
Rack Room Shoes – Take 10% off your entire purchase with a valid military ID, and 20% on Veterans Day.
Sleep Number – Veterans, along with active and reservist personnel can get 10% off their purchase.
Sports Clips – Veterans and active-duty personnel can get a free haircut on Veterans Day. The store will donate $2 from each paid haircut to a scholarship fund that helps veterans attend post-secondary school or trade school.
Target – Through Nov. 11, veterans can get 10% off two storewide purchases and get $50 in Circle Rewards when joining the chain’s Target Circle. To redeem, create or sign into your account, upload proof of service, and make sure you’re signed in as a veteran so your bonus applies.
Tractor Supply Co. – Veterans, active-duty personnel and first responders can join the store’s Hometown Heroes program for year-round discounts, coupons and a 10% discount each Veterans Day. Create an account, sign up for Neighbors Club, verify your veteran status and start redeeming the discounts.
Walgreens – Veterans and their families qualify for 20% off regular store purchases with a myWalgreens membership and proof of service through Nov. 11.
