Deadly shooting at popular Brookhaven park, police say

BROOKHAVEN, Ga. — One person is dead after they were shot at a popular park in Brookhaven on Saturday afternoon, police confirmed.

Brookhaven Police said officers responded to the park just before 5:30 p.m. to the response of an injured person in Blackburn Park, which is just off Ashford Dunwoody Road.

Officers said they found a young man suffering from a “life-threatening gunshot wound.” First responders tried to render aid but the man died from his injuries.

Brookhaven Police are investigating the shooting. It’s unclear what led up to gunfire or if there is a suspect in custody.
